Susan Grant, MA., L.P.A. Susan Grant has facilitated InnerVision groups for 13 years. She
is motivated by the desire to teach individual and groups the skills to be present to moment-by-moment experience, thereby
developing the ability to stay present and centered amidst the storms and challenges of life.
Susan has an undergraduate degree in religion and a master’s
degree in clinical psychology. She has worked as a psychologist in private practice, hospital, and primary care settings since
1992. She has had a Buddhist mindfulness practice since 1990 and is currently in training as a Soto Zen lay minister. Her
work combines the teaching of Eastern mindfulness and meditation skills with Western clinical approaches, including cognitive
therapy and stress reduction/relaxation training. Susan is known for sharing compassion and non-judgmental acceptance with
everyone with whom she works.
Susan Hickerson,
LPC, NCC, CRC Susan is a therapist and consultant from Weaverville,
NC with over 24 years of experience in psychiatry & facilitation work. For the past 10 years she has worked at Copestone
Partial Hospitalization Program at Mission Hospitals in Asheville, NC with an overview of Cognitive Behavior Therapy
specializing in Dual Diagnosis & General Psychiatric Disorders. She is also the principle in Creative Communications
specializing in human relations consulting, communications, & training in business, mental health, & personal growth
areas. In preparation for this specific seminar she participated for a year in a group focusing on the idea of
living her life as if she had 1 year to live, based on Stephen Levine's book A YEAR TO LIVE. She also has had
in recent years the opportunity to share intimately with loved ones their journey of terminal illness & lessons they taught
about living in this process. This experience has taught her that daily life choices may be different when considering
